What
is the FPTM
The FPTM is the first theater festival in Brazil dedicated exclusively to musical theater productions and its objective is to contribute to the development and productions of original Brazilian musicals. To be a space for composers, producers, artists, and theater groups dedicated to this genre, present their work.
The FPTM has NOT a competitive purpose. Its objective is to be a showcase for musicals, musicals in development, exchange of experiences and information, professional development, and improvement.
The FPTM is divided into 03 main activities:
- Musicals showcases
- Readings of projects under development
- Lectures
São Paulo is the center of Brazil's creative economy, the actions carried out in the city reverberates in the in all other regions. When it comes to the segment of musical theater, São Paulo being the largest production center in Latin America, becomes a reference for the whole country. Creating a festival in this format has a direct impact on the production chain of the theatrical scene in all segments - municipal, state, and federal.
The Festival has a partnership with the BIBI FERREIRA AWARD, the most important musical theater award nationwide.
Who are the curators
Marllos Silva
Founder
Actor, Singer, Theater Director, Playwright, Light Designer and Producer.
Consider one of the Persons of the Decade regarding musicals by the media portal Observatório do Teatro - Uol, was graduated in Performing Arts at Teatro Escola Macunaíma. Since the beginning of his career, he has been linked to Musical Theater. Founder of the Bibi Ferreira Award, the most important award in the country for musical theater productions. He is currently Director of the Marcenaria de Cultura, where he develops a series of cultural and corporate projects.
Jamil Dias
Curator
Brazilian musical theater actor, director and researcher .
Post Doctorate in Performing Arts at USP, Doctor of Performing Arts at USP, Master of Arts - Theater at USP, Bachelor of Theatrical Direction at USP. Director with experience in more than 30 shows. He is a member of the Bibi Ferreira Award jury.
Miguel Archangel
Curator
Journalist, master of Arts at UNESP, post-graduate degree in Media, Information and Culture from USP and a bachelor's degree in Social Communication from UFMG.
He is a critic of APCA (Paulista Association of Art Critics), of which he was vice-president. Mineiro from Belo Horizonte has lived in São Paulo since 2007. He was twice elected one of the ten best journalists in Brazil in the Culture in Electronic Media category by the Comunique-se Award.
Ubiratan Brazil
Curator
Born in Tupã, in the interior of São Paulo, he has a degree in Journalism from the School of Communications and Arts at USP.
He began his career in 1985 at Revista Placar, published by Editora Abril, moving to Jornal da Tarde in 1990. He also worked in the Sports section at Folha de São Paulo and O Estado de São Paulo. In 2000, he moved to Caderno 2, culture section from the newspaper O Estado de São Paulo, where he is now the editor.
Daniel Rocha
Curator
Bachelor in Composition and Conducting at UNESP. Winner of 2 Bibi Ferreira Awards, for arrangements of HEBE - O MUSICAL and for the musical direction of ANNIE - O MUSICAL.
He was part of the Faculty at the Musical Theater technical at SESI. He worked in the musicals: Hairspray, La Cage aux Folles, Xanadu, Hello Dolly, Gray Gardens, The Drowsy Chaperone and Man of La Mancha. He was Musical Director, Conductor and Arranger of the Cazuza The Musical - Pro Dia Nascer Feliz, Canção dos Direitos das Crianças, Nuvem de Lágrimas and Rent, Annie, Billy Elliott and School of Rock.

The festival will happen from April 22nd until April 30th 2021 broadcasted thru the YouTube Channel of Prêmio Bibi Ferreira. In this edition of the festival all the activities will be free and online only, respecting the social isolation rules due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The shows exhibitions and the readings exhibitions will not be competitive.
